Looking Back: Visiting the Great Sand Dunes in Sept. 2018
Two years ago this week, I made a multi-stop road trip along the Colorado Front Range – my main event was visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. From my start in Alamosa to my finish at St. Mary’s Glacier, I was able to tackle a handful of great hikes as well as enjoy a few moments of relaxation.
Hiking Cedar Brake Loop in Dallas, TX
Now that our move to Texas is mostly complete, I’ve been starting to explore the parks and trails in our area. Knowing that I’ve been spoiled by the mountains of Colorado, it was a pleasant surprise to find this hiking trail in Dallas. When I’m short on time and can’t make it out to my usual trails in Lyons, you’ll usually find me hiking at Sandstone Ranch in Longmont, CO. It’s a short drive just east of the downtown area, and has more elevation change than most of the flat walking trails elsewhere around the city.
